We provide clean, dry, storage units access to which is available anytime during opening hours and by appointment out of hours.
Your storage unit is locked with your own high security padlock ensuring that only you have access to your goods.
Why do I need my own padlock?

We supply you with your own padlock to ensure that you are the sole key holder for your unit. The padlocks we use have keys that cannot be copied.
How much does it cost to store my things?
Answer
The cost of a storage unit depends upon the size required.
We suggest that you check our containers page or speak to a member of our staff to determine the optimum storage for your requirements.
A price can then be quoted on the correct size unit. We have units ranging from 14 cubic metres to 36 cubic metres.
What can I store?
Answer
You can store almost anything in our units. The only exceptions are:
Living items such as animals & plants
Hazardous materials such as flammable liquids and explosives
Items that could decompose such as exposed foodstuffs
Unauthorised goods such as firearms etc.
Can I store cars or motorbikes?
Answer
Yes you can - we even have ramps to assist you in getting the vehicle into the unit.
All we ask is if the vehicle is not taxed that the DVLA is notified via a SORN (standard off road notification),
that the vehicle is drained of diesel or petrol and that the battery is disconnected and any alarm system is switched off or disabled.

What is included in the price, any hidden extras?

The price you are quoted by our staff includes your storage unit charge, rates, service charges, utility bills and maintenance costs. You will be provided with a high security padlock to secure your unit.
If the contents you are storing are particularly valuable we recommend purchasing contents insurance for your goods.
How & when do I pay for my storage?
Answer
You can pay by cash, cheque, credit/debit card, BACS or standing order.
You will be invoiced on a pro-rata monthly basis.
Do I have to give notice when I leave?
Answer
Not usually - all we need to know is your intention to vacate your unit - at this time a final invoice will be drawn up.
Notice can be given in person, in writing, by fax, phone or e-mail.
When can I access my goods and at what cost?

We offer unlimited access to your goods 24/7. Access is FREE at Scott’s for Storage.
Do I have to book a unit?
Answer
No, you can fill in your storage agreement today and move in immediately.
However to be guaranteed a unit of a specific size on arrival it is advisable to book your unit in advance.
Can I move in today?
Answer
Yes, a member of our staff will fill in our storage agreement with you,
(this takes approximately 10 minutes) and then you can move your goods in straight away.
What are your opening hours?
Answer
We are open 24/7. - if its you are a new customer please ring to make an appointment outside the usual office hours.
Are there any limitations on access?
Answer
No, once you become a Scott’s for Storage customer you will be offered access seven days a week 24 hours a day.
Do I have to sign a lease?
Answer
No you don't, you sign a straightforward storage licence agreement prior to moving into your unit.
The contract takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
How can I transport my goods to you?
Answer
You can bring your goods in your own vehicle if you have enough space. We have ample car parking and large loading/unloading areas at all of our units.
Scotts are purely a self storage centre. However we will recommend approved local removal/van hire companies.
We can also recommend removal services within the surrounding area or nationwide.
What size are your smallest and largest units?
Answer
Our smallest units are 14 cubic metres.
Our largest units are 36 cubic metres. Equivalent to the contents of a very large 4 Bedroom House
Are all your units under cover?
Answer
No, but we do have a large number of different sized units in our warehouses.
Alternatively, we also have a large number of 36 cubic metre units outside on hard standing.
Can I transfer if I have too much/too little space?
Answer
You are welcome to move to another size unit at any time depending on your storage requirements and availability.
Are the storage units heated?
Answer
Our units are not heated. However, we do find that the temperature within our units remains fairly constant.
You have a choice of indoor or outdoor units, the indoor units will remain at a fairly constant temperature as they are shaded from the wind, rain and sun.
What sort of security do you have?

We have extensive security features including:
24 hour recorded CCTV located both inside and outside the main buildings monitoring all entrances & exits
Dusk-till-dawn sodium floodlighting

Once I have a unit how long can I stay?

You are welcome to stay for weeks, months, a year or for as long as you require.
Are there any packaging materials available?

Yes, we have a range of cardboard packing and stacking materials available for purchase on-site.

Will you accept deliveries to my unit?
Answer
Yes, by arrangement we can hold a key to your unit and take delivery of goods for you.
We sign for the amount of packages received but not for the contents as this would necessitate us opening your packages.
This service is offered free of charge.
